[en] Bilingual blog
In one of recent comments some guy said, that there's no need for writing about technology in Polish. English is most important in our business (whatever does “our business” mean) so why bother...
Writing in English can really speed the blog up, I suppose — international audience, readers with different backgrounds, comments from other perspectives ... stuff like that, you know. But on the other hand, this is sometimes not easy to write in foreign language. Especially for somebody like me, who don't even know how to properly use his native one. Sure, we all read a lot in English on a daily basis, but reading and writing are two completely different skills. Besides, thinking in English is much more difficult than thinking in Java (for example), I daresay ;-).
I guess there are some bilingual Polish-English blogs already online. One I know is Software Engineering Blog by Piotr Włodarek. Stream of thoughts by Gandalf is one of more commonly known, not strictly technical, however. And of course we all remember that one of our Old Stars also does English (or “used to do” I'd rather say; being busy last year, are we Captain?). Not many of them, though. Should I start another?
I'm too old to do all I'm told to, you know — will do what I want anyway. I just wonder what do you, who come here for no obvious reason hundreds times a day, think about bilingual (pl+en) tech blogs? And what about TheTarPit in particular? Do you care at all?

Angielskich blogów w temacie jest masa, pisanych przez "native'ów". Problem pojawia się kiedy mimo tego, że niby angielski taki konieczny - okazuje się że tu i tam na różnych forach pojawiają się ludzie, dla których angielski JEST problemem. I nie to żeby mi osobiście przeszkadzało gdybyś przeskoczył w angielski, ale... będziesz wtedy jednym z tysięcy ;) Dobrego bloga w tej tematyce po polsku natomiast - ze świecą szukać.

Popieram Cachotterie, polskich dobrych blogów jest mało - szkoda by było, gdyby jeden z nich przeskoczył w angielski.

To trochę zależy, na którym poletku chcesz grać. :-)
Jeśli uważasz, że masz coś unikalnego do powiedzenia w skali światowej, go ahead i zakładaj tego bloga po angielsku. :-)
Mam nadzieję, że nie pozostawisz jednak polskiego bloga. O wielu rzeczach (szczególnie ostatnio) piszesz jako pierwsza osoba w tym kraju i choćby ja zawsze dowiaduję się czegoś nowego (choć od grafów i ontologii głowa boli).
Ale jeśli mogę coś sugerować: podobnie jak robi to Marek Futrega - dwa blogi: po angielsku i po polsku.
Mieszanie języków w obrębie jednego bloga nie jest problemem dla Polaków, dla osób anglojęzycznych może być. Nawet jeśli zrobisz dwie osobne kategorie, które można oddzielnie subskrybować, to nie zmusisz Polaków, aby komentując wpisy anglojęzyczne zawsze używali angielskiego. :-)

Przecież mowa jest o dwujęzycznym blogu...
Otóż to. Swoją drogą ciekawe wyrażenie — „przeskoczył w angielski” ;-)
A na marginesie — o WellStyled to już nikt nie pamięta? Tam jest śliczny dvousloupcový beztabulkový layout. Wyzwanie samo w sobie...

Writing in English can simply be more fun; there are things I’d write about in English that I wouldn’t write about in Polish just because it wouldn’t be (as) rewarding/interesting/etc. This aspect might not apply to strictly technical topics, of course.
As for WellStyled’s approach – it’s really great for the readers, but I’d think twice before committing to write the same content in two languages; writing Polish captions for 1/125 turned out to be much more boring than I initially thought, and I find them generally much less interesting.
If you think writing bilingually might be fun/nice/more interesting for yourself, go for it; we, the readers, can only benefit. :o)

I'm sure it will benefit you, yet I regret that Polish blogosphere will lost probably the most interesting technical blog out there.

That's the only polish blog I grab RSS from hundreds times a day for an obvious reason, it is just worth coming back. Keep up the good work in its native way, please!
